About The Artist
A passion for creating has always permeated my life - but I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I'd be doing what I do...
Since I was a little girl, I've always loved the process of how separate things can come together in a way that results in something new or more beautiful. I can remember crafting things with my Nana and being in a state of wonderment at the finished product. I still feel that same way now when I complete a project. Out of imagination and raw materials arise a concrete creation. In my glass work, in particular, the transformative process of designing, cutting, wrapping, and soldering converts flat pieces of glass into beautiful art forms.
My path has its share of interesting twists and turns. My formal education in the sciences allowed me a career based along these lines. But an 18 year relationship with a special being, my Fat Cat Punkin' Pie, reminded me of an early love of artistic beauty and creation, and prompted me to explore this alternative path. I continue to do so today...
My inspiration includes some great mentors - a couple of great teachers and a family who encouraged me to follow a dream. My father in particular, taught me a love of "the glass". I never thought I could realistically, follow that dream. But, I have, at this point in my life, ended up here - creating beautiful things in glass. This has lead me to meeting so many wonderful people - people who love our animal friends deeply and dearly.
In my work creating custom stained glass urns, I enjoy the additional privilege of helping my clients honor their beloved in a way that provides a tribute to that deep bond that exists between them. Like my clients, every piece of glass has its own unique characteristics.
When I begin an urn, I like to hold an image of your loved one in my mind (and will even post pictures in my work area when possible). This somehow inspires a creative element in me, and the result is an original creation that has its own unique characteristics. My clients tell me this is what sets my work apart - I listen to what is in their hearts and how they want to remember their beloved, and then try to focus this energy into the end product.
In December 2010, I became attuned to the level three of Master Practitioner in the energy healing art of Usui Reiki. This is a beautiful energy, and I feel very connected to it while preparing and constructing any project I am working on.
I hope this give you some insight into what I do. I would be happy to speak with you to answer any questions you may have. (Please see the "Contact Info" page)

My use of the word "creation" or any derivative, is used in an abstract sense, since I feel the real creation is accomplished through being in an alignment with a Source, Higher Power, God.
